My blog title is the sound I wanted to scream all day!
Kenny called me this afternoon to ask how my day has been, and this is what I wanted to say to him:
"This morning Cole woke up. He looked so cute all groggy like, so I was feeling like a good mom and make him pancakes.
Five seconds into eating the pancakes I left to get in my workout clothes. I hear a clank on the wood floor. Then "Um...Mom...Um." I run in to find his plate of pancakes all over my floor. Syrup and all.
I take a deep breath- because that's what the "good" moms do, and I tell him it's ok and that I will help him clean it up. Then out of curiosity I ask how it happened.
"I was sliding it and it fell." Oh. Well...let's not ever do that again. In my head I was yelling this.
A few hours later I decided to go run some errands. I ask Cole (who was wearing nothing but shorts) to go get a shirt on.
After repeating myself 3 times I finally had to pull out the old- "Go get a shirt or I'm leaving you here!"
He came back 5 minutes later with a shirt AND PANTS. I said, "please go back and put on your shorts, it's too hot for pants."
15 minutes later and after a few yells to his room to hurry up, Cole comes back with his shorts back on, AND HIS SHIRT OFF again.
I take a deep breath and ask Cole if he's planning on making it through this day.
I them precede to yell at him to get the shirt back on and get out to the van before mommy loses it. (Pretty sure I had already lost it.)
He comes out 3 minutes later with the shirt on and stomps (while glaring at me) to the van.
He gets in the van- I tell him to buckle up.
He stands there staring at me.
I say, "Buckle up now or mommys gonna do it for you!"
He stand there not moving.
I start to open my door to get out.
He hurries into his seat.
We get to the mall- run into the store and have no altercations in there:)
I'm happy again!
I buy him and all his siblings some candy while in there.
We drive to pick up the girls from school and while driving Cole eats his candy.
As we are waiting at the school Cole asks me for more candy- I simple tell him that he has no more and that the rest is for the other kids.
Three seconds lateer Cole is hiding in the back of the van. I ask him what he's doing.
With a muffled sound he says- "Nothing."
I ask him to stand up- his mouth is obviously full of something.
I ask him if he has eaten the candy- he just stands there not saying anything.
I yell at him yet again.
I start to tell him how mean it was to eat someone else's candy and how he disobeyed me and yadda yadda yadda.
We go get the girls and I tell him to get back into the van.
He stands there.
I say- Get in the dang van or I'm gonna leave you here!!!!!
He gets in.
We drive home in silence.
Once we get home we all start getting out of the van. Except for Cole. He sits there not moving a muscle. I then procede to tell him to get out of the van and into the house. He still sits there. I leave him there, walk into the house, shut the door, walk into the bathroom, lock the door behind me and sit in the quiet, small room for about 15 minutes.
After my "time-out", I come out and see the kids all watching cartoons (including Cole).
Cole survives another day.
