"Fwogs"

Our kids have discovered a new hobby! With all the rain this year we have had an ample supply of frogs around the house. Normally they don't come out until dark, but the kids are resourceful and they have been finding them under the basketball hoop. Everyday they go out and see how many they can catch and then they let them go under the deck. Some are huge, but we also have really cute little ones. I'm paranoid that I'm going to step on a frog one of these days!

Tropical Storm Hanna:)

This was the remnants of Tropical Storm Hanna that we got. It wasn't that bad, just alot of rain as you can see. The kids loved playing in it! They would run back up on the porch everytime they heard the thunder though! I know they looked soaked but they'd only been out for 5 minutes.

So, this is a map of the places we've visited. However, this is a combined effort. I have added in the states that Kenny and I have visited seperately. The kids map alone had 16 states- funny because Cole's only 3:) Not actually sure if either of us has been to New Mexico?

The kids actually did alot better than I thought. It took a few tries and a couple of tears, but they finally started to get the hang of it! Oh- and Kenny eventually stopped crying too!

Cole got to use the little kid skates, and that helped him alot. Of course I think he was more interested in the video games they had there!

Update!

Ok- so I just had to update my blog and let people know that I had put the wrong time down for the 10k that I ran (ok-mostly walked). I had previously said that my time was and hour and a half, but I was actually accidentaly looking at the 5K time clock! My time was 1:16:51! Which is alot better than the 1 1/2 hours that was my goal! It was nice to get that update, especially since I evidently tore a muscle in my stomach from running it. Ya, that's right, I can never do anything fun without hurting myself in the most odd way possible:) The thing that sucks the most is that I am out of commission for 2-4 weeks, depending on how well I rest. It's been 2 1/2 weeks and I think I will start walking my normal route again. Hopefully I can get back into it soon! Seriously though, who tears a muscle in the stomach from running- evidently only dorks! How bizzare!

First Day of School- 2008

The first day of school came once again!  Katie is starting 1st Grade this year and Maddie is in 2nd Grade.  They were excited to go back to school, however Cole was not as happy about it.  I think he was really hesitant to let his play mates leave him.  We got to attend the school's big celebration on the first day.  They all sit in the parking lot and participate in games.  I actually don't look as forward to the first day of school yet, because I like sleeping in and hanging out with my kids during the summer:).
