Disney on Ice

Maddie and Katie were invited to Disney on Ice for a birthday party this year, and once I heard that Cars was going to be one of the shows I knew I had to take Cole!  We went up on Saturday to Raleigh and got to see the best Disney on Ice I've seen so far!  Of course I have only been to 2, so I guess I might not be the best judge.  We got there early so that we could see the princess's dresses on display- and you won't believe who the kids got to see!!! 

CINDERELLA!!!

Katie of course was sooo excited since she is her favorite!

Cole seemed amazed by her and he kept trying to get closer to her but they had her sectioned off:)  And of course their was the problem of the security guard!  Pretty funny that Cinderella had more security than most famous people:)  Especially since she was being guarded from children!

Yes- Cinderella was a real person here!  She sat there and waved at all the little kids, but never talked or stopped smiling!  I felt sorry for her because I thought that her cheeks must be killing her!

So, of course the show started with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy.  I was sitting with Cole in a different section than the girls, so I only have an account of what he experienced!  But he was so excited to see Mickey!  He's never gotten to see Mickey in really life before- and I think he was just so surprised that Mickey was real!

Well, the next group to come out was the highlight of Cole's (short) life!  

As you can see any little 3 year old boy would have freaked at this!!!
Luckily I was able to capture the look on his face during this whole part!!!





Then they had the little mermaid.  I'm sure the girls were loving this!!!  Cole actually liked it to!
Next was Lion King!  Cole again was really excited to see this!  It was a really good production, and each act was just long enough to make it memorable!


Cole- chowin' down on some popcorn!  He still wouldn't take his eyes off the show!  I've never seen him so enthralled!
Lastly, after a short break they had the Fairies- like Tinker Bell and such.  It was a great part, but once they took to the ice Cole asked if we could go.  Obviously he was not into the fairies, but I know that the girls were just thrilled!
Mikey and Minnie came out again to say good bye, and Cole kept yelling bye to them!  


All in all it was a wonderful time!!!!!

Maddie's Chistmas Play

CHRISTMAS AT THE O.K. CORRAL

Maddie was chosen this year to be in the Christmas play at her school.  She loved going to the practices after school, and all I heard for 2 months was Christmas songs coming from the shower!  I tried to take pictures of the play, but the lighting in the gym was pretty bad, so these were the only ones that came out well:)  These are her friends from church that were in the play as well.  They only chose about 4 kids from every class to participate, so Maddie was really excited that she got to do it.

Maddie's Baptism

Maddie was baptized on November 29th at our church!  It seemed to me like she was just born, but here she was 8 years old and getting baptized!  She was so excited to do this, and she was very well prepared for it:)  Her Grandma Marla made her a beautiful baptismal dress and towel, and Grandpa and Grandma Funkhouser gave her her first set of scriptures:)  She said that she was all ready now!  Kenny baptized and confirmed her.  There was one funny thing that happened-  after she was baptized she got out of the font and I was helping her get changed and Kenny called to me that they had to redo it because he just realized that he was holding up the wrong hand when he did it.  So poor Maddie had to get back into the cold wet dress and back into the font to be baptized all over again!  She was so cold, but she just laughed about it:)  I told her it would be a good story to share about her baptism!  Afterwards to celebrate we went out and did some Christmas shopping and both Maddie and Katie got the ears pierced!  They haven't ever wanted it done, but I guess finally they decided to be brave and do it:)

Maddie's 8th Birthday!

Maddie had her birthday party thins year at a kid's salon!  It was absolutely perfect, and I am so excited that we decided to splurge this year and do this!  She really wanted this, and after some consideration and sucking up to Daddy, she got it!  It was really nice for me- they supplied everything from the venue to the cupcakes to the paper supplies!  I made the giftbags, but if I had wanted they would have even done that!  It was so fun, especially since the girls are at the age now where they want to do "girly" things!  Each girl got their nails and hair done, and they got to dress up and dance and sing to the music.  We took some group pictures at the end and we had all the girls pull out their inner Hannah Montana for it!

Each girl got to decide how they wanted their hair done, hence the CRAZY hair do's!!!!

We decided that Katie was Rainbow Brite!  All of the other girls had dark hair, so when it was Katie's turn to get her hair done the hair stylist went a little wild on the colors, but of course Katie just LOVED that!

Everyone really loved getting their nails done!  I teased Maddie and told her she was really spoiled because Mommy has never even gotten to get her nails done before!
