Forgotten Flowers

I totally forgot to blog about these in June, so I'm making up for it now:)  First of all I have to mention a few things:

Kenny and I celebrated our 10th anniversary in June, and since he's in a residency right now we couldn't really do anything huge (like a vacation or stuff).  So instead, we went out to eat (without kids!) and went shopping for a lawnmower:)  It's ok- shopping for the lawnmower was actually my idea.  You see being that I was 7 months prego it's not like we could go do alot of things anyways!  I figure he still owes me one and maybe in 3 years when he's done with the residency I will cash in for it!

Secondly, Kenny NEVER gets me flowers:)  We have this funny argument about this fact.  He swears that about 7-8 years ago he got me flowers and I got mad and told him I didn't want flowers!  

I SAY- about 7-8 years ago he would come home on special occasions (my birthday-valentine's day, ect.) with beautiful flowers from really expensive florists and I told him that I would be just as happy with flowers from Walmart or somewhere cheap- I wouldn't even notice the difference!  

Either way- I haven't gotten flowers since then, and I haven't been able to fix that problem:) 

Well, on our anniversary I had the shock of my life!!!  Kenny came home carrying 1 dozen beautiful roses!  They were amazing and so colorful:)  I think it took me awhile to realize what they were-- HAHA--just kidding.  I was so excited and I love them!   

*(side note)  I had to laugh a little because I'm pretty sure he still bought them from an expensive florist:)   Either way- there was no way I was going to complain about it this time- I might never get flowers again (at least until my funeral!) 

No name Carey

Ok- so we have officially decided to name this baby, "kid".  Not because we like it, but we can't find a name for him:)  We are having the hardest time with this one!  All of our other kids were so easy for us to name, we knew what we wanted or once the name was said we loved it!  

Not so much with this one.  We have searched the internet- I bought a $20 baby name book- we have had numerous people in one the quest, and yet NOTHING!

I have yet to find one that I am in total love with and Kenny changes his mind on names every week. 

The kids aren't helping too much either.

Maddie just wants us to name the thing already.  No really, she actually said that:)

Katie thinks we should name it Aladdin, or Nemo, or Lightning McQueen, or whatever name she reads off the nearest movie.

And finally, Cole thinks we should name it Cole- "Because that's the best name!"

He's not biased at all:)

So, I figure maybe some of you can help throw us a name, this is pretty much our last resort:)

Some of the names we have on a list (all these have been considered, but none have stuck) are:

Jude, Luke, Logan, Liam, Brady, Kyler, Owen, Drake, Troy, Zane, Brock, Chase, Evan, Rowan, Braddock, Cade, and a few more I can't even remember now.  I mean- have we really missed one:)

Of course Kid or Boy are the fall backs:)

Cole's Picture

I have been holding onto my girl's school pictures for about 6 months now because I figured it would be a waste to send them to the Grandparents without any of Cole.  I kept telling myself that I need to take Cole to get his pictures taken, but then again why spend a ton when all I need is an 8x10 and a 5x7.  I have also decided that we will be doing new family pictures this year, but might as well wait for the baby right (which by the way is still not named!).  Well, after some consideration and irritation I decided, "Screw this, Cole go get in the backyard so mommy can take your picture!"  Cole was so cute- he is really photogenic and LOVES getting his picture taken!  The only problem is that he feels the need to pose himself.  I kept trying to get him to stand somewhere and he would say, "no, let's do this!"  Well, I guess I learned my lesson because he actually had some cute places. (minus the trampoline)  This was the picture that I choose to send everyone.  I LOVE our Mac and I did some little effects to it:)  Let me know what you think:)

These other two were top contenders at the best ones I took.

Make-up Day

Well, for the last...let's see...6 months or so I have been an incredible slacker when it comes to my job.  And by that I mean being a housewife!  My family has been lucky if they get a "real" home cooked meal once a week.  Mostly it's been fish sticks, corn dogs, sandwiches, and many hotdogs and hamburgers (which Kenny cooked and I reheated the next day).  On top of that my house is rarely clean.  I try to pick it up if I know people are coming  and I have been able to keep up with the deep cleaning, but most of the time if the living room is clean then the kitchens a mess.  I can't remember the time when my whole house was actually clean together:)  Kenny of course has been a trooper and dealt with all of this wonderfully.  I'm sure their have been many days when he comes home thinking, "PLEASE let their be a meal waiting for me!"  Only to come home to chicken nuggets (or nothing at all).  So lately I have felt like crap and wishing I could step up a little and make things better.  My problem is that my feet are killing me all of the time and I just don't have the energy.  However I think that I have finally started getting mad at myself and I also want to try to make Kenny's long days a little better:)  So today I woke up and wanted to sit on the couch all day, but I pulled myself off the couch (literally, I am getting that big).  I had a whole ton of tomatoes from my garden that I have been needing to do something with, and I decided to can some salsa!  Luckily from then on I had a very constructive day! 

Beautiful aren't they!!!  A little thicker than I like, but Kenny likes his salsa thick.

I also made dinner!!!!! Huge accomplishment for me nowdays!  I even tried a new recipe that ended out being really good!  Sorry I forgot to take pictures until after dinner:)  That's a stuffed chicken breast by the way- that's right- no boxed meals tonight!
And finally I also made rolls!  Now if Kenny would just get home so he can see all of this:(  
Side note:  My feet are KILLING me, my stomach feels like it's going to fall out, and I can't feel my finger tips (I always burn them when I can), BUT I finally got my job done today!!!!

Tomorrow may be a different story.

4th of July

Just a few pictures of our 4th of July!  The kids had a blast swimming and then doing some fireworks.  We always do a few in our cul de' sac (not sure how to spell that), and we can see some big ones from there too:)

My Huge Problem

Ok- this is my obsession!  I know I should be focusing on more things, but I can't get this off my mind, and I can't seem to find anything like this anywhere else:)  I'm desperate!  I WANT THIS DIAPER BAG!  There's a small problem.  Only a tiny one:)  It's $375.  Ok, maybe that's a BIG problem!  SO big that when I told my husband he laughed.  

I have searched for a knock off, and can't find anything like it.  I have searched for a cheaper (similar) bag, but also can't find anything.  The nearest thing I have found is a patent leather RED diaper bag that I would rather die than have:)  Am I being the most superficial person right now?  I normally don't obsess about stuff like this and I have never been able to buy a purse that cost more than $30.  I always thought it would be a huge waste of money.  So WHY am I freaking out about this?  I've tried to chalk it all up to being pregnant, although I'm not sure that this is a viable excuse.  I don't remember being shallow on the list of side effects:(  I really think it all boils down to the fact that this is our last baby and with all the other kids I used the free diaper bags you get at the hospital.  I was thrifty back then:)  I did buy a diaper bag with Cole, but it probably cost $12.  

I want to explain- it's not the name brand or designer fact behind this diaper bag- I promise I'm not that bad:)  It's the look of it and the amazing pockets it has on the inside!  If I could find this diaper bag for under a small fortune I would get it in a heart beat!  In fact I was given permission for $75.  But I am sad to say I can't find anything that is close:(  I have got everything I need for this baby (we haven't found a name either- that will be my next blog rant!).  I just can't find a diaper bag!!!!

My First Garden

I have finally gotten around to blogging about MY FIRST GARDEN!!!  I am sooo excited to be doing it this year, and Kenny was so wonderful in helping me build a cute, little raised garden.  It took some time to figure out what I wanted to plant seeing that my family doesn't eat anything colorful. (Except Skittles) But I finally narrowed it down to tomatoes, carrots, zucchini, cantaloupe, and red bell peppers.  I had a ton of help from my friend Chandelle, the gardening goddess as I think of her:)  Here are the first pictures of it once we planted the tomatoes.  This was April 15th.

Here are the strawberries.  I put them in pots, but next year I will do them in the garden!  They seem inhibited in the pots:)

So, here are some pictures on the first day I got produce out of it!  This is May 20th.  You can also see where I added the rest of the plants.

In order to prove that it was the perfect size I figured I would do a size comparison.

And FINALLY, ...(drumroll please)..., Here are my peppers today (yes, I planted red, but for some reason they are green).


And here are my tomatoes after a serious trimming!  I didn't realize I could trim them and they were taking over my whole garden.  They were as tall as me, and bending over big time.  So I trimmed them and hopefully that helps.  I have gotten around 20-30 cherry tomatoes so far and 1 big one.  I LOVE it!
Ok- yes I admit those are cheap curtain rods you see.  We had these left over from our apartment days and I needed something to help prop up the plants and Kenny was at work.  I tried splitting wood, but I totally messed that up so I improvised!  Not bad huh, they actually work really good.  Next year I will know more and I will absolutely buy the big tomato wire things!
TADA!  My first zucchini!  (Chandelle will be jealous)  It's beautiful, and I have another little one on the way!  I was worried I wouldn't get any, but here we are!
