Alot of posts!

I have blogged a ton, so I will save a few for the next couple of days.  You might have to scroll down to see them all.  Here's a cute video with Maddie and Logan!

Logan's Arrival (WARNING: TMI)

Ok- so, I've had alot of people ask and alot of people still wanted to know what the heck went on, so I figured I'd put the story on here.  I have a few TMI moments, so if your sensitive to stuff you may not want to read this:)  Don't worry I won't go into too much detail, but the first part has to be told to explain the rest.

First off I will start by explaining this pregnancy a little- it will help the ending make more sense.  Also because I use this as a journal and want to have this in it:)

This pregnancy was a crazy one.  In the beginning we thought I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks.  Amazingly we went in a few days later and saw on an ultrasound that the baby was just fine.  One week later we had a little scare again, but like the first time it was ok.

At 21 weeks we had an ultrasound done and found out that I had Placenta Previa (where your placenta is on top of your cervix).  It could have explained the problems in the beginning.  We weren't worried because most often the problem can fix itself, but we had to continue to have ultrasounds every month to check and see if it had moved.  It was still there at 32 weeks, and at that point the doctors didn't think it would move so they scheduled a C-section for the 29th of August.  They had to schedule it before I had the possibility of going into labor because they didn't want me to bleed out (which is what would happen).  At 34 week I started bleeding a little and had to immediately go into the hospital.  I was stuck there for 2 1/2 days while they checked to make sure everything was fine and that the bleeding wasn't too bad.  Come to find out my placenta had started to tear away from the wall and that was what caused the bleeding.  I was sent home on bed rest because it was too early to deliver.  Luckily it wasn't too strict of a bed rest, and I was still able to move a little, I just had to rest alot.  I also had to have non-stress tests twice a week and a doctors appointment every week.  At 35 weeks I had another ultrasound and amazingly the placenta had completely moved!  They cancelled the C-section and all finally started looking up:)
Then on August 31st I started having a little trouble.  Nothing big, but still they wanted me to go in to be checked.  I went in that night and found that I had dilated to a 3!  Good news and since the placenta had moved we didn't have to worry about it.  I was told that I could go, but that if I had any bleeding at all to come in and they would deliver me right then.  Otherwise I was scheduled for an induction on the 16th of September.
Well, for the rest of that week I was feeling pretty sick.  Just extra tired, nauseous, a few Braxton Hicks here and there.  It was strange for me and I was hoping that I was actually going to go into labor.  I turned 37 weeks on Wednesday and I wasn't worried about anything since he was considered full term by now.  On Friday it was the same as usual.  I had a doctor's appointment the day before and he said it was ok to move around a little more because we weren't worried about anything happening.  So Friday I walked a little (like maybe 1 block- not alot, I didn't even notice it).  I'm sure that wasn't what did it because I was walking 3 hours before anything happened.
Well, at 8:00 we sat down to relax and watch some tv with the kids.  I was sitting there for a little while when I thought I should go to the bathroom, at first I didn't want to because being pregnant it sucks to get up every 30 minutes to pee:)  But I just kept thinking I should (wow- am I glad I had that thought!!!!).  I went to go to the bathroom and as I'm sitting there I started realizing that I was done going but there was still something there (this is the best way to explain it without getting to detailed.).  For those who have had their water break you will know what I'm talking about.  I immediately thought my water had broke and was so excited:)!!!!  That lasted about a second before I felt this huge gush of fluid.  I looked down and all I saw was blood.  I yelled for Kenny and wasn't sure what to do- I think it was a little shocking.  Kenny threw me a towel and told me to get in the car.  (This is where I was so glad that he is level headed about this stuff!)  I wrapped the towel around me and as I did I told him that it wasn't stopping.  Kenny rushed the kids outside to the Mackey's (our friends and neighbors).  As I went to get into the van I realized that I had already soaked the towel and luckily grabbed a blanket I had in the garage.  (it was one of those mexican blankets and amazingly was folded up perfectly!)  I got in the van and that was when Kenny yelled to me that he couldn't find the keys!  So he told me to get in the car.  I got out of the van and instantly felt this gush of stuff (that's all I can think of to describe it)!  Kenny yelled that he found the keys for the van and I got back in.  We drove off to the hospital, but we both knew that we couldn't wait and drive the 30 minutes to the Army hospital.  The nearest hospital was Cape Fear and it was only 15 minutes away.  Kenny drove like a bat out of- well- you know.  We had called Womack Army hospital and they said to stop at Cape Fear too.  We pulled up to the emergency entrance and Kenny ran to get a wheel chair.  We don't know this hospital at all so we kept having to ask people where to go.  And of course we kept getting the whole, "we need to register you" thing from the desk people.  We were so mad at that point- but we would just explain really fast what was going on and they would let us through.
Once we got to the triage unit in labor and delivery things moved really fast.  They obviously knew how serious it was when they saw how I had soaked through the towel and blanket.  They stripped me down (never knew it was possible to do it so fast) put me on the bed and got 2 IVs in before I knew it.  The surgeon came in, told me I was going to have an emergency C-section and about this point the best thing happened!  They put the heartbeat thing on my stomach and we heard the babies heartbeat!!!!  Once I heard that I was able to relax (well- at least a little)!  They got me ready for the C-section and moved me into the o.r. to start.  It was all so fast, I was shaking really bad this whole time and it was hard to stop it enough so that they could do the spinal.  4 people were trying to hold me still:)  It worked great though and in no time I heard the doctor say that she was starting.  Kenny was there the whole time- pretty sure he thought it was cool!  Logan was born at 9:26pm.  He weighed 7lbs. 14 oz. and was 21 inches.  He was completely healthy!!!   About 1 hour after everything started happening.  Doesn't compare at all to my other labors of 14,15, and 20 hours:)  The surgery went well, and the doctor said it had looked like my placenta had moved back down.  I did have to have a transfusion on Saturday night with 2 units of blood because I was low.  Once I got that I started feeling (and looking) alot better:)
I stayed in the hospital almost 3 days.  I got to leave on Monday afternoon, and it was soooo nice going home!   Kenny got all of this last week off and it was nice to have him home helping:) My sister comes in on Saturday for some extra help which by then will be much needed!  I am doing really good- every day things get better and I love that!
Logan is a perfect baby!  We use to say that because the pregnancy caused so much anxiety and stress that the baby had better be a little angel- and he is!!!!  He sleeps and eats great!  I think I'm getting more sleep than when I was pregnant!  Well, maybe not, but I like to tell myself that:)
It was really crazy, but it was totally worth it!

Mouthwash

I had to slip this blog into the middle of all the "Logan" blogs:)  Kenny was getting the kids ready for bed and Cole (always wants it do what his daddy does) wanted to use the mouthwash.  Not the "little kid" mouthwash- No- he wanted to use the stuff that Kenny uses.  So, here he is- using the mouthwash!

Logan's Here!

Here they are- pictures of Logan!  I will have to blog a few different times to update everything:)  This blog will contain the pictures of Logan in the hospital though.  We went in on Friday night and Logan was born at 9:26pm.  This was the next day in the morning around 10:00am.  The kids were so anxious to see him, so Kenny left early that morning to get them from the Mackey's house and clean them up to come and visit.   I was sleeping when they came, but I forced myself to wake-up because I didn't want to miss that.  I was still kind of out of it, but was able to watch them as they held him and met Logan for the first time!  They were all so excited and just wanted to hold him!

They had to take turns of course, so we all decided that we would just go in order from oldest to youngest.  Plus, we thought it would be good for Cole to see how to hold him first:)

They were all surprised at how little he was.  None of them have ever gotten to hold a baby that little before.  They thought he was "the cutest thing they've ever seen"!

Logan was 7 lbs. 14 ounces, 21 inches long.  He was also almost 3 weeks early, so everyone was surprised at how big he was for being that early!

Cole was so glad to finally have the baby out.  In the last few weeks he had started to think that the baby was never coming out!

They all took turns holding him a couple of times on that first day.  They got to stay most of the day, only leaving to go get something to eat.  They were a little bummed when they had to leave that night, and Cole wanted to know why the baby wasn't coming home.  Funny how he didn't seem to care about whether mommy was coming home or not! LOL
They came again on Sunday.  Kenny had to come back Saturday night, so he left the next morning to go and get the kids again.  It was nice to have them back, and the first thing Cole said as he walked into the room was, "Where's the baby?!?"  They all immediately wanted to hold him again:)

Cole was so excited to finally wear his Big Brother shirt!

First Day of School- 2009

The girls had another first day of school!  They were excited, but I think they still were hoping for a little bit more summer vacation.  I think I was hoping for that too.  I'm suppose to be on bed rest, but there was no way I was going to just drop them off.  Cole and I walked them in, but it didn't take much to get them situated since they are fast becoming pros at this.  I think Cole was bummed to see them go, but also a little excited for some mommy and Cole time.  What ever short time we have until this baby comes.  I had tossed around the idea of putting Cole into preschool, but he didn't get in to the one at the girls school, and I wasn't fond of the idea of driving all over the place every day picking up and dropping off kids to two different schools.  Especially once the baby came.  So, Cole will have one more year of hanging out with me, and I'm sure he will have more fun once he has a little brother to play with.

Locks of Love

We wanted to do something fun today since it's the last weekend of summer vacation:)  And with me stuck on bed rest it was narrowed down quite a bit!  However, we have been wanting to get the girl's hair cut for a while, and I figure since I would be sitting there while it was done that would be ok.  The girls have also been wanting to donate their hair to locks of love, but we thought you had to have a "certain" amount.  I did a little research (online) and found that even if you don't have the 10 inches needed for a little girl's wig you can still donate your hair!  They either use it for a boy's wig, or they sell it to pay for the price of making the wigs:)  Maddie was really close to having the 10 inches, but I didn't want to chance it being too short.

We took the girl's to a salon, and chopped it all off:)  Well, maybe not all.  Here are their before, during, and after pictures:

Update on Update

Ok- so good news and bad news (at least for me).  The good news is no more scheduled c-section!  YAAAA!  The baby is looking great, and everything is going wonderful with him.

HOWEVER- (and WARNING this is going to be a little bit of a rant)
My stupid placenta is still being crappy!  It has torn away just a bit on the edge which explains the bleeding from last week.  And I just it has blood in it?!?  Ok- so I may be stupid, but I thought that the placenta was a big blob of blood.  Guess I was wrong.  My doc could show me on the ultrasound how the placenta looks white and you could see spots of black on it.  So, I guess that means that there is blood in my placenta.  UGH!  Have I mentioned yet that this baby has taken 20 years of my life.  That's right- I'm down to living till I'm 60!
The doctor asked if I was still staying on bed rest and I was like-"um, sure" whoops.  I kind of took myself off once I had seen that the placenta had moved.  I know- dumb- but when your pregnant you are not always thinking clearly:)
Well, now it's basically a waiting game.  My doc scheduled me for an induction at 39 weeks, but she didn't seem completely convinced that I would make it till then.  I had to laugh when she said that I was scheduled on Sept. 16th because Kenny was suppose to leave on Sept 17th for 1 week.  Good timing- right!  Luckily Kenny's commander has been great and told Kenny he could reschedule.  But I am dying thinking of having to live with this stress for that much longer!  It already kills me everyday thinking- am I going to start bleeding again today?  Especially because I'm a paranoid person to start with!  I've had to deal with these thoughts throughout the pregnancy, and I hate to have to deal with it even longer!  And of course, who loves the idea of extending your pregnancy when you already planned to have it done with earlier?
This baby is playing with my head!!!!  He's slowly driving his mother insane and he isn't even born yet!  My hope is that this means he will be a perfect little angel when he does finally arrive!
Just to add to the rest, now I have to go in twice a week for non-stress tests and an ultrasound.  This on top of a doctor appointment every week.  Wow- I'm going to be at that hospital more than Kenny:)  Ok- maybe not that much:)
