Disney World - Day 5

Day 5 in Disney World started off with the best breakfast I think I've ever had!  We got up early that morning to join the whole Disney crew at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort.  The food was amazing; it consisted of a buffet filled with every breakfast food you can imagine.  We were seated almost immediately and got the kids food before the first character came to our table.

The characters were all great!  They came to our table one at a time, signed the kids autograph books, posed for pictures, and gave each kid a hug before they left!  It was great!  I LOVED the characters and the attention they gave us!  Logan wouldn't get too close to the characters, but at least he didn't freak out like we thought he would.

Goofy came first, and he was super fun!  He kept making gestures about Cole's hat (Pluto).  He was waving around showing Cole how he disapproved of the hat!  It was really cute!  Finally after I explained to Cole that Goofy and Pluto don't get along all the time because they are both dogs, and he probably wished it was a Goofy hat instead, Cole took his hat off and Goofy got all excited!

 Goofy then moved on to the other tables and we were visited by Logan's favorite character- Mickey Mouse!!!!  All the kids had been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Mickey.  Logan was really excited, yelling "Mickey, Mickey" in his little voice!  However the minute Mickey held out his hand to him, Logan retreated onto Kenny's lap in fear.  Logan wasn't too fond of the characters, but he was definitely more interested in Mickey then the others.  Poor Mickey tried about 3 times to get Logan to give him 5 or shake his hand, but it didn't work.  At one point later in the meal Mickey came walking by and patted Logan on the head when he wasn't paying attention.

 Cole was so excited when Pluto came to our table!  He had been waiting to show Pluto his hat.  Pluto was really great and got all excited and hugged Cole and played with the ears on his hat!  It was fun to watch them interact with the kids.  Logan just kept pointing at Pluto and saying, "Dog, Dog"!

 Minnie Mouse was the last one to visit our table.  The girls were the most excited to see her.  She was really cute and gave each kid a hug and made sure we had a good picture too.

 Chef Mickey's was completely worth waking up early for, and it was a perfect start to a wonderful day!  We decided to spend the entire day at the Magic Kingdom, and we also had Extra Magic Hours at the end of the day to look forward to as well!  After breakfast we went to the Magic Kingdom and started riding the rides!  On our way to the rides we saw the line for the Meet n' Greet for Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.  We hadn't stopped at any of these yet because the lines were always so long, but the Cast member in charge of the line told us that if someone wanted to wait the rest of us could go on a few rides and then we could jump back in line.  The kids really wanted to meet them because they were the newest characters, so Lindsey volunteered to wait and the husbands and I took the kids on some nearby rides.
The closest one was Prince Charming's Regal Carrousel.  Luckily it had no wait time too.  The guys went to get some fast passes while I went on the ride with the bigger kids.

After the Carrousel we went straight for the Mad Tea Party ride- better known as the Tea Cups!  We had to give Chase a hard time with this one because he wouldn't go on it!  After riding it though, I remembered why he wouldn't want too.  I had forgotten how sick it can make you feel. :)  Kenny and I took the kids on it- he rode with the boys (minus Rusty- I figured Kenny could only handle one baby at a time) and I rode with the girls, plus Rusty.

 After the Tea Cup ride we went to meet up with Lindsey and got back into line to meet Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.  It didn't take much longer until we were in the meeting area.  The cast members had the kids color and play some games while we waiting for the characters to come out.

 After waiting in line it was finally our turn to meet Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, and it couldn't have come any sooner, my kids were at each other's throats (literally) while waiting.  It was pretty hot and I could tell they were tired, and slowly losing it.  They loved getting to talk to Rapunzel and Flynn Rider though!  I persuaded the girls to ask Flynn to show us the smolder, which he did!  They talked about going to lunch at the Snuggling Duckling and what they were hoping to eat there.  They were very good at their characters!

After meeting the characters of Tangled we headed to do a few rides.  We went on Peter Pan's Flight, and then we went to Mickey's PhilharMagic show.  It was a cute 3-D show that we all liked.

After that we decided to head back to the hotel for a little bit.  The kids were getting grumpy (and a few of us adults too) and it was getting pretty hot.  We headed back to the resort, put the babies down for naps and let the kids go swimming.  Then we split up for a little, the Grames family went and had lunch, but since my kids weren't hungry yet we headed back to the Magic Kingdom.  Of course by the time we arrived the kids said they were hungry.  We ate at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe, and it was awesome!  The food was really good and the burgers and wraps were huge.  The only bad part was that it was still so hot out that once we sat down to eat we realized we weren't that hungry and ended up not eating alot.  It was still worth it though.

After eating we headed over to the Tomorrowland Speedway.  I rode with Cole (yes, he drove and yes, it was the scariest ride- just kidding).  Maddie drove the car ahead of us with Katie as her passenger.  Logan was too little to ride in a car, so Kenny had to wait.

 We then went on the Mad Tea Party again- somehow the kids talked us into that one.  But this time Kenny got out of it by claiming he had to use the restroom- I will have to remember that trick!



I love that the girls look like they are almost hunched down into the tea cup- they were trying to spin it really fast.

 We headed to the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and met up with the Grames Family.  I was really excited to go on the Winnie the Pooh ride because Logan LOVES Winnie the Pooh.  I knew it would be his favorite ride.  Plus I loved the rides that we could all go on as a family!

Logan loved the Winnie the Pooh ride- we was starring at everything.  He was completely memorized by it all.

After riding the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh we headed thru the rest of the Magic Kingdom going on rides.  We hit the Pirates of the Caribbean, the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Splash Mountain, the Haunted Mansion, the Jungle Cruise, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

During Pirates of the Caribbean- Logan was a little scared.

 After going on a few rides we split up for a little and Kenny took the boys to get some stuff at the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop and I took the girls on a few of the bigger rides.  Cole was excited to get the fake pistol that he wanted, and Kenny bought the girls some pirate necklaces.

 After meeting back up with the boys we tried to hit a few more rides, but Cole and Logan were fading fast.  It was already 10pm because the fireworks were starting, and Kenny decided he would take them back to the hotel and I could stay with Maddie and Katie and do a few more rides.  I made sure they did the Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride before they left though.  However, Cole decided to give out on us and didn't want to go on the ride, so I waited with him.  Once Kenny left with the boys we went on Snow White's Scary Adventure.  The girls really liked that one.
Then we went on the Tomorrowland Speedway again because Katie had been wanting to drive a car instead of being a passenger.

 We headed into Tomorrowland and went on Space Mountain, Stitch's Great Escape, Astro Orbiter, and Space Mountain again!  We had to wait a long time at Astro Orbiter.  When we got in line it had said 20 minutes, but once we were standing there the time went up to 30 minutes.  We kept trying to decide whether we should get out of line or not, but we were afraid that if we got out of line we would regret it.  I remember this ride as being really cool, and wanted the girls to go on it, but it took forever and it was already midnight.  It took about 30-35 minutes, but we finally rode it, and the worst part was Katie HATED it!  She said she felt like she was going to fall out and didn't like that.  I felt so bad and didn't want her last ride in the Magic Kingdom to be the worst, so I asked them if they wanted to ride Space Mountain one more time.  Luckily they both wanted to, and we still had fast pass tickets so it took us about 3 minutes to get on.  Katie really loved that ride, so I felt much better after that.  We headed back to the hotel with a quick picture taking opportunity in front of Cinderella's Castle.

We all loved how pretty the castle was at night.  It was always changing colors.  We stopped at a shop on main street to get Katie a stuffed baby kitten that she wanted, and then we hopped on the next monorail home.  The girls both fell asleep on the way back, and we finally got to the hotel room at 1am.  It was really exhausting, but completely worth it!!!!
