Our New Kitty

We got a Kitty!  It was one of those things that wasn't planned and just kind of fell in our lap, but I think it came at a perfect time!

We had lost our dog about 2 months ago.  She was sick and had to go, and we knew we wouldn't want a dog again for a long time.  I never really thought about getting a cat, because Kenny said he's always hated cats.  Well, one day I was at target with the kids just getting a few things when my friend and neighbor, Channing, text me asking if I knew anyone who wanted a kitten.  I said no of course, but the kids asked me what it was.  I told them about the kitten and the begging began:).  The said they would take care of it and they would pay for everything, and blah blah blah, you know the drill.  I kept telling them that Dad would say no, and they pleaded for me to call him.  So, I figured I would love to prove how right I was and preceeded to call Kenny.  I told him about everything, and he said- "Fine, as long as I don't have to mess with it."  I was shocked.  After telling the kids what he said, they very excitedly asked to go down the kitty isle and find stuff for the new kitty!
I called Channing back and got the whole story on the kittens which was this:
She had noticed a stray cat in her back yard a few weeks ago, it would go back and forth a few times a day to a wooded area.  After about a week she saw 3 little kittens wandering out of the wooded area.  She put some food out there for them, but for the last week had not seen the mother any longer.  She finally went out and got the 3 kittens.  They were starving, very dirty, and had fleas.  She had taken them in and was trying to find homes for them.
We went to her house and had our pick of the 3.  There were 2 boys and 1 girl.  My kids immediatly fell in love with the tiny, white, fuzzy little girl.  So, now we have a kitty:)  She's really cute and cuddly, and luckily very well behaved.

*Side note:  It took 3 weeks, but the kids finally named her Snowball.  She is a great kitty, loves the kids, and transitioning to outside:)
